Private Lesson Testing
Testing is the way a skater progresses through the levels of skating.
A Skating Skills test must be passed before taking a Singles test at any given level. Upon passing the Skating Skills test, a skater can then test the Singles portion at that level.
When tested, a skater is measured by a standard skill level set by USFS. Qualified USFS judges test skaters during test session. Testing is usually available in conjunction with competitions.
There are many testing sessions available through the various clubs, including virtual testing options.
Skaters don't have to test, but it is a way to demonstrate and prove your skills and we use your test level to group skaters for our ice show.

Learn to Skate Testing
There are 3 levels of Snow Plow Sam, which is are the very first levels our program. These levels are primarily for our youngest skaters, Ages 3, 4 and 5. There are 7 levels in our Basic Skills program, including Basic skills 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Pre-Free. Every Skater must pass each of the Basic Skills levels in order to move into Senior Club.
Our learn to skate program is three 7 week "sessions", the standard structure being 6 weeks of lessons and the 7th week being testing.
Our Learn to Skate Coordinators work with the coaches to assess the skills and needs of individual skaters to ensure they are getting the most out of their time on the ice.
If your skater participates in another Learn to Skate program in the off season, or during the regular season, you must provide a copy of the passed test to the coordinators in order for us to honor the completed test.
